Lost Boys Chess Tournament 1998
The 6th Lost Boys Chess Tournament Antwerp will take place from 31 July to 9 August 1998
in the Zuiderpershuis, Waalse Kaai 14 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Over 400 participants are expected, including many international grandmasters and masters.
Open International Tournament
The tournament will be divided in 3 open groups:
- the A-group for players with a rating of 2200 or higher (FIDE or national).
- the B-group for players with a rating between than 1600 and 2199 (FIDE or national).
- the C-group for players with a rating less than 1600.
Players without a rating have to indicate if they want to play in the B- or C-group.
The A-group and B-group are FIDE and KBSB rated.

1st prize 200.000 BEF 40.000 BEF
2nd prize 120.000 BEF 30.000 BEF
3rd prize 110.000 BEF 25.000 BEF
4th prize 100.000 BEF 20.000 BEF
For the A-group and B-group there are at least 10 prizes available, there are also special prizes.
For the C-group there will be prizes in kind.
Time limit
There will be played 9 rounds (7 rounds for the C-group) following the Swiss-system.
Time limit 40 moves in 2 hours, followed by 20 moves in 1 hour, after that 30 minutes quick-play finish.
The time limit in the C-group is 2 hours knock-out per player per game.
Start of the games 13.30 hours ; last round 11.00 hours.
